Tondy's Story
"My first day at University was quite daunting, new faces, new environment and loads of expectations! I had come from Brighton just as lively as London but very different. In the months before starting my course I took trips to Kingston over the weekend used the local bus service and asked shop owners and locals general questions just so I could get a general idea of the place that I was to spend three years of my life!
The semester started sooner than I had expected, fortunately I eventually managed to get everything in order and finally make some friends. Many students find it hard to start new relationships with people so it takes a few of the chatty students to get the group talking and sharing new experiences. I was usually the "chatty" one it was good to share advice about money matters, shopping and activities to join offered by the University.
I am studying Economics and Politics and am really enjoying the course, I have learnt so much in the few months of starting the course, it really is challenging and informative.
Its good to get a balance between socialising and learning, apparently successful students know when to say no to another night out with mates in exchange for study and vice versa".
